Paul Mengert moves from student to teacher

May 28, 2016

Using his education and professional expertise, Association Management Group (AMG) CEO Paul Mengert began teaching others about the community management industry. Founding AMG in 1985, Mengert gained significant vital hands-on leadership experience throughout more than 30 years of running the Greensboro, N.C., based business. Operating in both North Carolina and South Carolina, he managed numerous teams of diverse individuals, leading to prominent business success. This work, coupled with his education -- political science and communications degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as well as completion of the OPM (Owner/President Management) program with Harvard Business School -- made him an ideal teacher of similar-minded professionals, both new and seasoned within the field.

Mengert served with the Community Associations Institute -- with whom AMG has its accreditation -- as national senior faculty. Specifically with the Carolinas’ Chapter, he served as president of the organization in 1995. Additionally, he has taught classes to various local and regional homeowners’ associations, all of which are approved as continuing education courses by the necessary departments and bureaus.

Most recently, Mengert has taught the Management Development Program for the Harvard Business School Alumni Association in Charlotte, N.C. This program is similar, in many ways, to a Masters of Business Administration program, aiding professionals gain valuable business and management lessons.
